With only one chance to perform all the different conflict scenes, director Måns Nyman (Daniel Savio, Marcus Price & Carli, Rebecca & Fiona) guided us with great precision through a meticulously directed chaos, all shot in one take, ending up leaving the stage setting totally destroyed.
It took a whole lot of blood, sweat, fists, slaps, smoke, burning guitars, wigs, broken glass, false eyelashes and tears, halter tops, glitter hats + a shitload of people.
Here is the result! We are super proud!
We will be supporting our favorites I Break Horses tomorrow night at Debaser Slussen, Stockholm. Kicki will also be guest singing with I Break Horses on their show. Don’t miss!
Post-punk covers of Destiny’s Childs Bills Bills Bills and Lesley Gore’s feminist classic You don’t own me (immortalized by Dusty Springfield). That’s just some of the surprises on Masquer’s new ep Covers (release date: November 2) where five magic tunes are well… masquered… and given a new glow. That of course includes The Cures The Hanging Garden – Masquer’s first and oldest cover – a staple in their live-sets and of course honoured on their debut album aptly titled Cover my Face as the Animals Cry (2011).
At the moment the dark yet crystalline-voiced combo is focusing on recording their second album rather than doing gigs. Nevertheless, two beaming exceptions take place on October 19 and 30.
A heartfelt welcome to:
Masquer’s concert at Strand this Friday October 19 (on stage: 10:30 pm)
The Release Gig at Bistro Barbro on October 30 where artists such as Asha Ali and Per Egland cover previous Masquer songs. Also the big premiere of the Twin Peaks-vibrating video to ”You don’t own me” released the same day.
